From 6 to 22 February 2026, the XXV Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 will take place in Italy, welcoming athletes from over 90 nations.
For the very first time, Valtellina will play a starring role, hosting several competitions in the world-famous resorts of Bormio and Livigno.
The events in Livigno
Known as the “Little Tibet,” Livigno will host all freestyle and snowboard competitions. Between the Livigno Snowpark (Mottolino) and the Livigno Aerials & Moguls Park (Carosello 3000), a total of 26 Olympic medals will be awarded in disciplines such as half pipe, slopestyle, big air, snowboard cross, ski cross, and parallel giant slalom.
The events in Bormio
The legendary Stelvio slope will host the men’s alpine skiing events, including downhill, super-G, slalom, and giant slalom.
For the very first time in Olympic history, ski mountaineering will be part of the Games, with sprint races and the mixed relay awarding 8 medals in total.
Olympic vibes in Valtellina
Beyond the competitions, Valtellina will be animated by a full program of side events, from the arrival of the Olympic Flame to cultural and gastronomic celebrations spread across the valley.
